There’s Nothing Like A Polar Express

To make you think about lifestyle

When you walk outside in minus thirty-degree weather one of the first things you notice is your face hurts. A biting and slightly burning sensation creeps across your skin reminding you to cover up. That’s without the wind.

It’s not really something you can imagine. Our imagination usually put us on a warm, sunny beach somewhere in the Caribbean in January, not Hudson’s Bay. That’s for the polar bears when they go south for the winter.

Nearly every mid-winter we experience what the weather stations like to call the Polar Express which is the name given to the forcing of cold air southward from the North Pole. It’s not unusual.

When the temperatures plummet, usually, unplugged vehicles don’t start, water pipes freeze and the dog looks at you like you’re insane if you open the door to let it outside.

Living and working in a climate where the temperatures can be extreme in your environment teaches you great wisdom faster than anything or anyone.

Wisdom #1: Wearing fur around your face and anywhere else on your body is for protection…
